Pakistani Forces' Crackdown Against Baluch in Quetta

Pakistani security forces have arrested over 200 people in a massive crackdown in Baluch populated areas of Quetta on Tuesday.

Police sources said that following the rise in incidents of target killings and bomb blasts in Quetta, police backed by personnel of Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) and Balochistan Constabulary (BC) launched a massive crackdown in different parts of Sariab including Killi Kamaloo, Killi Brauo and Village Aid.

According to reports a Baluchistani woman identified as Ganj Bibi died when police stormed into her house to arrest her sons.  Some Baluch affirm that she died as the result of torture. Ganj Bibi was the mother of Sanaullah Mengal; a BNP-mengal activist.

Meanwhile, Baloch National Front (BNF), Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) and different groups of BSO staged separate demos against the search operation outside Quetta Press Club.

They had also brought the body of woman alleging that she died due to heart attack because of fear of search operation and torture of personnel of law-enforcing agencies.
